Sorry I’ve been absent so long. I got behind two days and then have been playing catch up so haven’t had a chance to update on here for a while. Finally last night I caught back up. Trying to get ahead so I wouldn’t fall behind when I go see Harry Potter this weekend. Anyone else planning to go to the midnight showings? Are you dressing up? I think I will but trying to decide who to be. Hermione would be easiest since I have brown curly hair but we will see.

Anyways, writing is going good. The last couple chapters have felt a little slow but they are picking back up. There was a few things that happened in the beginning of the book that I had to relate in. Might end up cutting those parts. Unsure right now. Like there was an issue of mention a kitten at the beginning. Now the family is on the run for quite a while so I couldn’t leave the cat to starve to death. I had my main character go get the cat. Now feel like it is being drug along for no particular reason. Who knows, maybe it will somehow be useful though. If not, editting will have to wait until next month. Now is not the time to be cutting out big chucks. My word count would not like that at all.

Today I had a flash of how I wanted the story to end so I wrote most the ending. I think one of the things I’m loving about NaNoWriMo is I feel like when I have an idea I need to hurry and write it out instead of just taking notes and until I get there. Hopefully I’ll be able to peice it all together okay when I edit. If this writing style works for me I’m definately going to start to stick to it.

Done and done. Well for the day at least. Luckily last night I got ahead so today’s writing was pie. Hitting the 10,000 mark felt really good. It made me laugh thinking about how back in college writing a 5,000 word paper seemed daunting at times. So far this has felt fairly easy. Hoping that feeling keeps up of course.

I am realizing that there will be stuff I have to go back and correct because I’ve wrote things that go against each other. I try to fix them as I go but a lot will have to be fixed in editting. It kind of feels good not to sweat the small stuff right now. When you don’t get hung up on it being perfect, writing seems to come easier. I realized that with the last novel I completed too. Getting the story out became more important and when I went back, I realized that I really loved what I had wrote. Sure it needs fixing but it is a very good base. I think that is what NaNoWriMo is all about. Forcing yourself to get the story out.

When I came up with the idea for my book, there was one particular scene that came to mind. This is the one I’m starting to write. It is exciting because this should be a fairly easy section to write because it has vividly been in my head for a couple of months.

Two days down.

I’m still on goal which is awesome. It was harder today because I was in a rush to get to the Bayside/Senses Fail show early but I still made it though.

Continueing on the writing a past and current story line, I wrote more about the past. It seems to be going a lot better than the present. That might change the direction the story is going but haven’t decided let. The past is only a few days behind the current so maybe I’ll end up looping back on myself then can edit it the way I want it. Does that make any sense?

So tired right now so heading to bed. I have a super long day at work tomorrow but should definately have time at night to get up to date on writing.
