Welcome to the future of comics. Well sort of. As the world goes more and more digital it makes sense that comic companies would find a way to catch up.
The new format is called motion comics. From what I’ve gathered it is a combination of actual comics, animation, and voice over. There is a preview of one at the bottom of the link. It actually looks pretty cool from that preview. It sort of reminds me of anime but in a more americanized drawing style.
I found the article interesting since it was pointing out this is not meant in anyway to replace comics. It is meant to stimpulate comics sells. It makes total sense to me. Just look at how much movies do for the sell of comics or books. Even television shows do the same thing. This is giving another median for people to get interested in something they might not have before.
Do you agree that this could be a great way to stimpulate comic sales? Do you think you would watch these motion comics?

I’m so excited about this news I found today.

First off, let me say I am in love with Michael Cera. From his days as George-Michael to my favorite webshow of all time, Clark and Michael, I think he is amazing. Another thing I love with movies based on comics so I’m so thrilled two of my favorite things are coming together.
The movie is called Scott Pilgram vs The World. The premise is that a guy has to defeat seven evil boyfriends to get to the girl he loves. Sounds great huh? The movie is based off of a series of comics by Bryan Lee O’Malley. Well actually the second one in the series I think. I haven’t read them or even heard of them until today but they sound like something that might be interesting. It isn’t really the style comic that I’m into. It sort of a manga-type style drawings which isn’t really my thing. I don’t know if I’m making sense at all. I’m into more Neil Gaiman or Michael Turner’s styles; sort of sexy and dark.
Have you read Scott Pilgrim? Do you think it will be a good movie? What is your favorite comic turned movie? Or just favorite comic in general.
