Be a cool parent
Okay I know this is kind of loosely book news but I felt like it was something pretty cool.
If I had a kid I would totally buy them this. Everyone I know with kids has babies right now but when they get older I’m totally going to keep this in mind as a gift idea.
I think it is pretty cool seeing bands that I like, grown up, and now doing kid friendly stuff. It is a very interesting new trend. The best example I can think of is the singer of The Get Up Kids/New Amsterdams, Matt Pryor, putting out a cd under the alter ego The Terrible Twos. It was designed to be kid music (example songs about the dinosaurs that live down the street) but be indie music that parents could honestly enjoy too. I got my cousin that album when her baby was born. She loved it.
Will the next thing we see me indie artist writing books for kids? I would not be surprised at all. Either way, I’m happy that when I get to the having children point in my life, I’m glad there will be stuff that is cool out there.
